Dehradun, September 16, 2024 Uttarakhand Premier League: Pithoragarh Hurricanes staged a spirited chase to secure their first two points in the standings with a commanding four-wicket victory over Haridwar Spring Elmas in the opening match of the Monday doubleheader. Leading the way was Neeraj Rathour, who scored a match-winning 73 off of 49. Throughout his innings, which included seven fours and four sixes, he displayed incredible composure. Vijay Sharma took control of the finishing chores at the same moment, putting up a powerful, aggressive display that included an undefeated half-century off of 22 balls.

The firing of Hitesh Naula did not deter Neeraj Rathour, who concentrated on keeping the momentum going. He and Vijay Sharma had an important partnership of 68 runs, and their combined efforts enabled their side win handily with just three balls remaining.
Haridwar Spring Elmas had earlier started steadily after being put into bat, with openers Daksh Awana and Ravikumar Samarth laying a strong foundation. Rohit Dangwal, left-arm bowler for the Pithoragarh Hurricanes, trapped Daksh Awana for 24 runs, ending the opening partnership for 60 runs.
Before taking a huge wicket from Ravikumar Samarth, the Spring Elmas lost a few more wickets. Before wicketkeeper Vijay Sharma stumped him, he played a captain’s knock, scoring 60 off 39 balls with four fours and three sixes.
