After six years of representing Victoria in state cricket, Ellyse Perry has returned to New South Wales.
Due to international obligations, Perry was only able to play in 20 WNCL games for Victoria, but he still managed to score 1052 runs at 75.14 and take 13 wickets.
Due to Australia duty, she will also be limited in her availability for NSW, the reigning WNCL winners. Although there might be a window in January before India’s visit for a multi-format series, she will be at the ODI World Cup in the early going of the next season.
Perry has played for the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL throughout his time at Victoria.
“The last six years I’ve spent in Melbourne and at Cricket Victoria have been extremely fond ones and I’m incredibly grateful for all the opportunities and memories that I’ll cherish,” Perry stated.
“I can’t wait to return to Sydney and be nearer to my family and old friends.” I feel incredibly lucky to be returning to a top-tier program, and it’s been a pleasure keeping in touch with CNSW through the Sixers.”
NSW’s head of women’s elite cricket, Leah Poulton, stated: “We are really happy to have Ellyse return to the Breakers. In addition to being one of the best cricket players in the world, she is also a leader and role model whose influence goes well beyond the field.
“Pez’ professionalism, experience, and approach to the game make her an incredible asset to any team, and we’re excited to have her back in our program.”
Prior to joining Birmingham Phoenix for the Hundred in August, Perry inked a contract to play with Hampshire in July.
Australia has a slow winter and won’t play until September, when they travel to India for an ODI series to get ready for the World Cup.
