The tenth season of the major T20 competition, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, would include some of the top domestic and international players. In the next competition, major international players like Shai Hope, David Warner, and Daryl Mitchell are expected to make an impression.
In an attempt to compensate the international players who have guaranteed their attendance at the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to pay an extra $100,000 (one lakh US dollars).
The decision by the PCB to pay the fees from the special money set aside to honour the well-known international cricket players was confirmed by a PCB official.
According to NDTV Sports, a PSL official stated, “David Warner, for instance, came on board for a fee of USD 300,000, and 100,000 of this will be paid to him by the PCB from the special fund. The PCB will use this fund to assist in paying some of the elite players who signed on during the players draft.”
For those who are not familiar, the ninth iteration of the lucrative competition will take place from April 17 to May 22. Because Pakistan and Dubai are hosting the ICC Champions Trophy in the United Arab Emirates, the dates have been somewhat rescheduled this time. The Indian Premier League (IPL), which kicks off on March 21, coincides with the dates. Participants in the Pakistani tournament will include those who were not sold at the IPL Mega Auction and were included in the PSL draft.
West Indies T20 great Kieron Pollard (USD 250,000) and former South African great hitter AB de Villiers (USD 230,000) were the highest-paid players in the PSL in the past. This season, this record might be broken thanks to the PCB’s additional compensation.
