PCB rejects claims the Champions Trophy 2025 will be rescheduled, accused it of 'Creating unnecessary sensationalism"

The Pakistan Cricket Board, or PCB, recently addressed the rumours that the Champions Trophy 2025 will be rescheduled in a report that they released. The board rejected these allegations and stated that they are unnecessarily stirring up controversy.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy in February and March of 2025. Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, recently took centre stage and discussed moving a few domestic matches to make stadium building easier.

The possibility of a rescheduled event caused fans to become concerned. Nonetheless, the PCB has stated unequivocally that the competition’s timetable would not be altered.

“It’s disheartening that some media platforms have misrepresented PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks from yesterday’s press conference, falsely citing him regarding the potential for a date change for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 because of security worries, consequently causing needless drama,” the PCB released a statement.

“The PCB Chair also mentioned that while some domestic matches may need to be shifted to facilitate uninterrupted construction work, this in no way pertains to the ICC Champions Trophy, which remains a priority for the PCB as a premier eight-team international event,” the statement further stated.

Our stadiums don’t meet international standards at all: Mohsin Naqvi

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, has spoke out about the state of the stadiums. In relation to the Champions Trophy 2025, it is noteworthy that the PCB has enabled numerous enhancements to be made at the locations. However, Naqvi expressed the opinion that none of their stadiums meet international cricket standards.

“International stadiums and ours differ greatly from one another—none of our stadiums meet international standards. Day and night, the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) crew is at work. Sportskeeda cited Naqvi as saying, “[We] will make our stadiums among the best in the world… providing basic facilities in stadiums is [our] first priority.”
