Following the official announcement of Grant Bradburn as the head coach of team Pakistan, the PCB confirmed the four members of the selection committee.
In addition to Bradburn and Mickey Arthur (director of the national men’s team), the apex board affirmed two appointments to oversee the national team and the U19 side.
The PCB has confirmed that the newly formed committee’s members are Hassan Cheema, the national men’s team’s manager of analytics and team strategy, and Haroon Rashid, the committee’s secretary. The cricket regulating body issued a statement regarding the official appointments of the new panel members, who will assist Arthur and Bradburn with national team strategy.
“The presence of Cheema, who has worked as a strategy manager and data analyst in franchise cricket around the world, Arthur, and Bradburn will aid in strategizing for the approaching and upcoming series, enhance the bench strength, and provide a proper pathway for performing players in Shaheens and U19 sides to graduate to the national side,” the PCB said in a statement.

Notably, PCB chief Najam Sethi stated that the selection of the national team will necessitate the use of data, a domain in which Hassan Cheema has expertise. It is noteworthy that Hassan worked as the strategy manager for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United.
The News International quoted Sethi as saying, “We want to incorporate data into our selection, and Hassan is a specialist in this field.”
Following a rigorous recruitment process, the PCB officially appointed Grant Bradburn as the head coach of the national team on Sunday, May 13. Prior to his current role, Bradburn was a fielding coach in 2018 and the chief of high-performance coaching until 2021. In addition, he was designated interim coach for the multi-format series against New Zealand in April before being confirmed as the team’s head coach.
