Before to the 2025 Champions Trophy, the PCB allows stadium upgrades

In anticipation of hosting the Champions Trophy in 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is getting ready. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has approved multiple stadium modifications in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi as the event draws near.

It is noteworthy that renovations are already under way at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium, and Karachi National Stadium, which serves as one of the tournament’s venues.

The warm-up matches, media coverage, and promotional activities from February 12–18 will all be paid for by the $70 million budget that the International Cricket Council (ICC) just approved.

Additionally, a substantial amount of funding has been set aside by the PCB for the enhancements;

the modifications will be completed prior to the competition’s scheduled February 19 start date, with the summit match taking place on March 9, 2025.

Regarding the competition, each competing team will be permitted to play two practice matches in Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore. Chairman Chris Harding was present when Mohsin Naqvi recently paid a visit to the BDP Pattern office in London.

During his visit, Naqvi gave the office an update on the stadium’s numerous modifications. He also expressed the office’s satisfaction with the plans in progress, stressed the significance of the changes, and explained how they would enable the PCB accommodate a big number of people at the venue.

Bangladesh and Pakistan will face each other in a future series.

Speaking of forthcoming assignments, Pakistan’s team will play a two-game Test series against Bangladesh. The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host the first Test, which is scheduled to begin on August 21.

Additionally, starting on August 30, the second Test will be place in the Karachi National Stadium. Both teams’ chances of winning the two Tests will be vital to their World Test Championship campaigns because a victory would significantly improve their rankings.
