PBKS pacer Nathan Ellis offers observations on two bouncers per over rule, saying, "I think at the moment people might be leaning on it a bit too much."

In T20 cricket, Nathan Ellis, a fast bowler for the Punjab Kings, has become a formidable player. Ellis is prepared to contribute to the PBKS team and lead the bowling attack while keeping the batters guessing in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.

In the IPL and with the Australian national side, Nathan Ellis has developed into a T20 specialist. All around the field, people have praised him for his ability to continually fool batters with his variations. Ellis does, however, disclose that creating these variants has been a continuous process requiring ongoing learning and adaptation.

In Twenty20 cricket, staying one step ahead of the opposition is crucial. In an interview with Sportskeeda, he stated, “So for me, it’s about learning as fast as I can and applying that in the games going forward.”

The new two bouncers per over regulation that will be implemented in the IPL in 2024 also intrigues Ellis.

I believed it would be a tremendous asset going into the competition, but I believe that right now people may be relying on it a little too much. It might be a decent alternative, he said, later in the competition when the wicket starts to get a little worn out.

Looking back on his best PBKS memories, Nathan Ellis recalled how much he enjoyed playing in front of his home fans at the PCA Stadium in Mohali last year, having spent his first few seasons in the COVID-19 bubble.

“I’ve known Punjab for a while, but throughout the COVID-19 years, we lived in Dubai. It was a thrilling first game for me playing at the home field, as I had never played there before. It was wonderful for me to play my first Punjab game in Sharjah as well,” he continued.

He also talked about the experience of playing in front of large audiences and the ambiance of the Mohali stadium during the previous IPL season.

“My favourite moment for Punjab would be last year when we first played in Mohali,” the fast bowler stated. Ellis has not yet engaged in his season’s first contest.

Nathan Ellis has a particular place in his heart for the Australian team’s home debut in Perth.

“My family was able to travel to Perth even though it’s not particularly near home—it’s still in Australia. There was my wife now. In front of my family, I got to perform the national song. It seemed unreal. “It was almost like a ‘I made it’ moment,” Ellis declared.
