The 20-over team has not included Matheesha Pathirana because of an upper respiratory tract ailment. In lieu of Pathirana, Asitha Fernando has been called up.
In preparation for the forthcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan and the subsequent T20I tri-series, which will also feature Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka Cricket has revealed the ODI and T20I teams that will go to Pakistan.
By October 2024, Asitha has not participated in a T20I. Four more changes have been made to the Lankan T20I team, which lost in the group stage of the 2025 Asia Cup. The following individuals will take the position of Nuwanidu Fernando, Dunith Wellalage, Chamika Karunaratne, and Binura Fernando: Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Janith Liyanage, Dushan Hemantha, and Eshan Malinga.
Regarding the 50-over team, Dilshan Madhushanka will not be included. The left-arm seamer’s knee issue has not yet healed. The replacement for Madhushanka has been announced as Eshan Malinga. Wanindu Hasaranga, Lahiru Udara, Kamil Mishara, and Pramod Madushan will replace Milan and Nuwanidu Fernando. Dunith Wellalage, Nishan Madushka, and Priyanath Rathnayake, in that order.
Tuesday, November 11 is when the ODIs are expected to start. At the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, all three games will take place. On November 19, Sri Lanka will play their first match of the T20I tri-series, which is scheduled to start on November 17. All of their games will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, with the exception of their opening game. Additionally, the final will be place at the same location on November 29.
