Pathan Predicts India’s Top Wicket-Taker

To finish with the most wickets at the T20 World Cup 2026, former Indian cricketer Irfan chose star spinner Varun Chakravarthy above Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah. The massive event will take place at several locations in Sri Lanka and India from February 7 to March 8.

Regarding India’s bowling, Irfan said that Chakravarthy, Arshdeep, and Bumrah’s combined 12 overs would be vital for India in every game. Additionally, he believed that Chakravarthy might be India’s game-changing element.

“We bowl really well. Bumrah and Varun will bear full responsibility. Varun, Arshdeep, and Bumrah have 12 overs that are absolutely solid. With the form Varun has been playing lately, I believe he will take the most wickets in 2017 World Cup. I genuinely believe that a lot relies on Varun. He might be the Indian team’s secret weapon.

In a video posted to his YouTube account, Pathan said, “His confidence is really high.”

After praising Arshdeep’s skill, the well-known analyst brought up the fact that India’s top T20I wicket-taker was recently discovered bowling in unfavourable conditions.

From what I’ve observed, Arshdeep is a strong bowler who puts in a lot of effort and is always up for a challenge. However, the problem occurs when the ball isn’t gripping very well, the conditions aren’t conducive to seaming, and the pitches aren’t really assisting much. In such areas, he has to get a little better. “This assessment is reasonable,” he continued.

After winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in the Americas, India enters the major event as the reigning champions. Becoming the first team to win three T20 World Cup titles is their goal.

In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Arshdeep and Bumrah were India’s top and second-highest wicket-takers, respectively. Bumrah finished with 15 at 4.17, while Arsdheep took 17 wickets at an economy of 7.16.
