Pat Cummins serves his country with honour and dedication on and off the pitch: Anthony Albanese

Australia beat England by two wickets at the end of Day 5 in Birmingham, giving them a vital 1-0 lead in the Ashes 2023 series. Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, saved their game when they were 227/8 and still needed 54 runs to win. The 30-year-old put together a 55-run partnership with Nathan Lyon that was very important and helped Australia win the exciting game.

Before Pat Cummins scored 44 runs in the fourth inning to win the game, he took four English wickets to keep their lead under 300. The game ended just before 4:30 a.m. on the east coast of Australia. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese talked about the game and said that it was one of the best Test matches ever.

The Guardian reported Anthony Albanese as saying, “Today at work in Australia, there will probably be a few yawns, because last night there was a pretty amazing end to one of the best Test matches ever played.”

Albanese went on to praise Pat Cummins work as captain and the team’s ability to play the game with smiles on their faces.

“What a great example of leadership from our captain, Pat Cummins.

I think one of the best parts was that they kept smiling the whole time. They had so much fun, and it didn’t feel like there was any pressure at all,” the Australian PM said.

“On and off the pitch, he is a hero and a great Aussie. Pat Cummins is a great representative of his country on and off the pitch, and we are very proud of him and the whole team today’, Albanese said.

After the Ashes win, Anthony Albanese says he talked to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia, also said that he got a word of congratulations from Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the UK, after Australia won the important game at Edgbaston.

The 31st Prime Minister of Australia praised his UK colleague because the English team played with “courage and conviction” and “showed the kind of spirit and sportsmanship that their team is known for.”

Albanese said that the series has been going well so far, and he thinks that the rest of the games will be just as good.

“We look forward to a great series,” Albanese said. “This has been a great start, and we can’t wait for the next four Tests,” he said.
