Our plan small partnerships to take the team over 230: Ravindra Jadeja

In the third Test match against New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, India had a wonderful day with the ball, but the team was once again disappointed by the hitters. Rohit Sharma, the captain, appeared to be in form as he blasted three boundaries, but he left after 18 runs after failing to convert his start once more. Youngsters Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal attempted to create a partnership, but the former was dismissed after 30 runs.

Mohammed Siraj was assigned as a night watchman following Jaiswal’s termination, but the decision backfired when he left for a golden duck. He was LBW because he was unable to understand Ajaz Patel’s delivery. In the process, the pacer also squandered a review. Due to a run-out shortly after, star batsman Virat Kohli also returned to the pavilion. He failed in his attempt to get a quick single.

India was 149 runs down at 86/4 at the end of the day. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja discussed the same, saying that the final fifteen minutes of the day did not go their way since the hosts were in a tough place due to misunderstandings and poor judgement. He does anticipate that the other players will seize the lead in the first innings and form modest partnerships.

We must work together as a batting unit. Miscommunication and poor judgement occur, and it was unanticipated. Following the conclusion of the day’s play, Jadeja stated, “We are 150 runs behind. Small partnerships to take the team’s total over 230 will be our game plan.”

It’s always special to take a fifer for India in Test matches: Ravindra Jadeja

Team India had the first two sessions of the day. Jadeja has struggled in the series thus far, but he recovered in Mumbai, taking five wickets. After giving it some thought, he said that catching a fifer in Test cricket is always a special moment and that he enjoyed bowling with Washington Sundar, who hit four.

“It’s always special to take a fifer for India in Test matches. I was pleased to have contributed to my team’s breakthroughs. Washington bowled well, and everyone did their part, but it wasn’t an easy bowl in the heat,” he continued.
