For the 2024 Paris Olympics, BCCI will contribute IOA INR 8.5 crores

In a commendable move, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will receive INR 8.5 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah in order to help the IOA’s 2024 Olympic efforts in Paris.

On Friday, July 26, the Olympic Games of this year will formally begin. 10,500 competitors representing more than 200 countries will wow sports fans with their unique talents. Along with the main competition, 329 medals from 32 sports and 45 sporting events will be up for grabs.

Shah announced on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account that BCCI will support the IOA as its athletes strive to bring honour to the country.

It gives me great pleasure to declare that the @BCCI would provide assistance to our amazing athletes who will represent India in the 2024 Paris Olympics. For the campaign, we are giving the IOA INR 8.5 Crores. We send our best wishes to every member of our contingent. Make the Indians proud! Jai Hind, wrote Shah.

I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign.

To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind! 🇮🇳…

A great performance by Indian athletes at the main event is anticipated by Indian supporters following their incredible campaign in the last edition, which took place in Tokyo three years ago. The Indian team achieved an unprecedented feat at the Tokyo Games by winning seven medals, which included the gold medal for javelin throw by Neeraj Chopra. As a result, anticipation for the Olympics in Paris is fairly strong.

Cricket fans will be able to see their favourite sport at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, while they will be watching other sports at the multi-nation competition this year. In 2028, cricket is scheduled to participate in its second Olympics. The sport was played at the Summer Games for the first time in 1900. This was just the event’s second edition.
