IPL team Former India pacer Paras Mhambrey, who was born in Mumbai, has joined the Mumbai Indians. In 2008, the 52-year-old was a member of the Michigan coaching staff.
Lasith Malinga, the legendary Sri Lankan who played nine seasons with the Mumbai franchise, is the current bowling coach for the five-time champions. Head coach Mark Boucher is in charge of the entire coaching staff. Mhambrey will likely collaborate with Malinga to hone the bowling unit, especially the pacers, according to a report from The Times of India.
Interestingly, Mhambrey was the Indian team’s bowling coach from 2021 to 2024. He collaborated with two of MI’s key players, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, during that time. He has also collaborated with Rahul Dravid during his time with the India U-19 team, and it is anticipated that he would offer his full range of skills to the position.
After winning the T20 World Cup in 2024, Dravid’s contract, which was originally set to expire after the 50-over World Cup last year, came to an end. Mhambrey’s tenure came to an end along with him, and Morne Morkel took over. In 2021, Mhambrey took Bharat Arun’s seat.

The former national champion bowler is a 1990 graduate of the BCA-Mafatlal bowling program, which was run by former pace bowling maestro Frank Tyson. During a six-week session at the Karnataka State Cricket Association in Bengaluru, Mhambrey also helped Tyson. In addition, he has coached numerous domestic teams.

After 16 years, he returned to the Indian domestic circuit as a Level-3 coach after graduating from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. During his more than 21-year coaching career, he has also coached Maharashtra, Baroda, and Vidarbha.
