Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant shared a joyful moment just prior to the commencement of South Africa’s chase in the second ODI in Raipur. In the occasion, Pant gave the former India captain his fallen eyelash, which he used to make a wish.
Rohit and Pant were spotted having a casual conversation close to the boundary lines just minutes before India took the pitch for the second innings. An eyelash on Rohit’s face caught Pant’s attention, even though he wasn’t in the starting lineup for this game. After removing it from Rohit’s eye and placing it on the back of his hand, the wicketkeeper-batter instructed him to make a wish. Rohit, who was seen grinning at the gesture, finished the process by briefly closing his eyes.

India’s 2026 T20 World Cup jersey is revealed by Rohit
Prior to this exciting moment, the host team batted well after being selected to bat first in ODIs for the twentieth consecutive time. The remainder of the batting team made sure the Men in Blue reached a solid total even though Rohit only scored 14 off 8 balls, hitting three boundaries before falling behind.
Once again, Virat Kohli was the main attraction. He hit 102 off 93 balls, his second consecutive century in the series and his 53rd ODI century, continuing his outstanding streak. He beat Sachin Tendulkar for the most ODI hundreds at a single batting position, among other records, thanks to this knock.
Ruturaj Gaikwad gave Kohli outstanding support and hit his first century (105 off 83 deliveries). In the middle overs, the two added a huge partnership that helped the hosts surpass 250. The team reached 358/5 in 50 overs thanks to an undefeated 66 from 43 balls from stand-in captain KL Rahul, who concluded the innings.
Alongside Tilak Varma and BCCI representatives, Rohit, who was just designated the tournament ambassador for the 2026 T20 World Cup, unveiled India’s new T20I shirt during the mid-innings break. The new outfit features a tricolor-themed collar and a deep blue foundation with vivid orange panels.
Rohit talked passionately about India’s 2024 T20 World Cup experience, reminiscing over their triumph and expressing faith in the squad in advance of the 2026 tournament, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.
