The fitness and condition camp for Pakistani women is scheduled to start on Thursday

At the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, 25 female cricket players will participate in a 17-day skills and fitness program starting on August 8. The players are expected to report to camp on August 7 and start taking part in different workouts on August 8.

There will be two phases to the camp, according to reports on the Pakistan Cricket Board’s official website.

Up to August 18, there will be workout sessions that include fielding drills, fitness tests, and medical examinations for the athletes. The second phase, which will include skills training, including net practices, under the guidance of the national coaching staff, will start on August 19 and last until the end of the camp.

The players have been selected by the women’s national selection committee to train for the next ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Bangladesh on October 3.

There are two wicketkeepers, nine hitters, eight bowlers, and six all-round players on the 25-man squad. Below is a comprehensive breakdown:

Batters – Ayesha Zafar, Dua Majid, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Omaima Sohail, Sadaf Shamas, Sidra Amin, Yusra Amir.

Bowlers – Diana Baig, Neha Sharmin Nadeem, Tasmia Rubab, Waheeda Akhtar, Zaib-un-Nisa Niaz, Nashra Sundhu, Sadia Iqbal, Umm-e-Hani.
All-rounders – Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Nida Dar, Rameen Shamim, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tuba Hassan.
Wicketkeepers – Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi.
Looking ahead, Pakistan’s women’s schedule is empty until the Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up matches, which take place right before the main event and pit them against West Indies and England women.

With hopes of going farther than usual this time, Pakistan Women, who are presently ranked seventh in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings, would surely look to improve their position during the 20-over competition in October.
