Team India members participated in a fun-filled headshot session prior to their Asia Cup 2023 campaign opening against bitter rivals Pakistan. Notably, Rohit Sharma and company will face Pakistan at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 2.

India came to the island nation on August 30 following a six-day training camp in Alur, Karnataka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the players posing for headshots on social media before their first match. The video included stars like Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Shubman Gill.

India prepares for the Pakistani conflict

Regarding the present Asia Cup, Pakistan’s campaign got off to a huge start with a 238-run victory over Nepal with to Babar Azam’s 151 and Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 109. In the meantime, India is getting ready for their first game and will be motivated to defeat Pakistan in the big game on Saturday.

The Men in Blue won both of their previous encounters in the Continental Cup in 2022, but Pakistan easily advanced to the championship match after winning the Super Four match. Speedster Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Prasidh Krishna, and Shreyas Iyer, among others, have rejoined the ACC event setup after spending time on the sidelines owing to injury.

KL Rahul will miss the first two group games, though, as he continues to recover from his injury, according to head coach Rahul Dravid. In the meantime, Siraj returns to the ODI lineup after being rested during the ODI part of the West Indies tour due to an ankle injury.
