Dar stated that Pakistan wished to bowl first in this instance because they had lost when batting first against India. They made a single substitution, replacing middle-order hitter Iram Javed with all-rounder Omaima Sohail.
Nepal also improved their batting. They brought in wicketkeeper-batter Roma Thapa to replace medium-pace and off-spin bowler Sabnam Rai. Both Nepal and India will advance to the semi-finals if they win tonight.
