Cricketers from Pakistan still need visas for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The forthcoming ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to start on October 5, will feature players from Pakistan, but they have not yet received their visas to visit India. The Babar Azam-led team is scheduled to depart early on August 27; however, the delay in obtaining a visa could contribute to their tardiness in showing up for the major competition. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who are scheduled to play New Zealand on September 29 in a warm-up game, have conveyed their discontent with the situation.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Zaka Ashraf-led organization are currently in continual communication to resolve the issue. Intriguingly, they are the only competing team that has not been granted a visa. As a result, PCB has urged the international organization to step in and has also required written guarantees from BCCI that visas will be granted to all competing countries.

“It is disappointing that the Pakistani team must deal with this uncertainty before the important competition. Since the last three years, we have been reminding [them] of their commitments, and now, with our first warm-up game planned for September 29, it has all come down to the last two days.

Pakistan is having a terrible run of form.

Prior to the World Cup, Pakistan must improve in terms of their form. The Babar Azam-led team was humiliated by India in the recently concluded Asia Cup, and they also lost against Sri Lanka. Because of this, the team placed last in the Super Four standings.

Hasan Ali has taken Naseem Shah’s spot in the World Cup roster, therefore the team will be without him there. During the Asia Cup, the young man hurt his shoulder, and as a result, he was unable to rejoin the team. It’s a major setback for the national team because he performed superbly in the continental tournament.

On the other hand, Hasan will contribute his expertise. He has played for his country in 60 ODI matches thus far, taking 91 wickets in the process. Other than that, Pakistan has retained their Asia Cup roster.
