WTC 2023-25 Points Table: Here's a look at latest standings after Pakistan's dominating win over England in Rawalpindi

After more than three years, Pakistan finally won the Test series at home on October 26 when they defeated England by nine wickets in the third Test in Rawalpindi. They defeated the visiting England 2-1, causing a little shift in the 2023–25 World Test Championship standings. With four victories and six defeats in ten Test matches, they have advanced from eighth place to seventh place. It is important to remember that Pakistan last triumphed in a Test series at home against England in 2005 and in 2015.

But with nine wins, nine losses, and one draw in 19 games, England has dropped from fifth to sixth place. Additionally, they are now 40.79 percent instead of 43.06 percent. However, Pakistan has a points percentage of 33.33 percent. Even though the adjustments are merely symbolic, neither England nor Pakistan will gain from them in terms of qualifying for the WTC 2025 finals.

You cannot remove this from the team because it is a unique moment: Shan Masood.

For Pakistan cricket, which was struggling with a string of international tournaments and domestic matches, the victory is a nice change. After losing the series to Bangladesh 0–2, they came under fire. When England lost the first Test match by an innings and 47 runs, the outpouring of criticism grew more intense. But the team captained by Shan Masood took advantage of the surface’s ability to produce spin and hit hard at England’s weakness.

They all come together on London buses. It took a while for the first Test victory to occur, and now the series victory. This is really important to me, the players, the coaches, and the management because they all did a great job.

Masood remarked following the series victory, “The character says a lot, this is a special moment and you can’t take this off the team.”
