Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan’s top batter from the World Cup last year, is apparently going to be left off of the PCB’s selection committee, which is headed by Aaqib Javed, for the November white-ball tour to Australia.
According to a source close to Pakistan Cricket, Fakhar’s failure to reach the eight-minute challenge for a two-kilometer run was the main reason he was not taken into consideration.
After returning from a lengthy trip to the West Indies, Fakhar was required to run two kilometers in eight minutes, a goal he was unable to accomplish, and he just failed a fitness test. At the moment, he is battling knee problems. Even if he is well enough to play and has been playing domestic cricket, putting more strain on his knee could cause a major injury, the source told News18.
The briefing went on to say that Fakhar Zaman tweet about the dismissal of Babar Azam, the star batter for Pakistan, was another factor that contributed to his exclusion.
“Fakhar’s open comments about his No Objection Certificate during the recent connection camp did not sit well with certain top board officials (excluding the chairman), even though Aaqib Javed has loosened the fitness standards for team selection,” the article continued.
Even his place in the squad is not assured for Fakhar, who was initially thought to be Babar’s replacement in the 50-over team after the latter resigned.
