Sean Williams of Zimbabwe stated on Friday that they are excited by the wicket at Sylhet because it usually aids pacers, ahead of the first match of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
Phil Simmons, the head coach of Bangladesh, has previously stated that they would want to play the Test on a real wicket as opposed to a surface that is spin-friendly, which is the tried-and-true method that Bangladesh uses when hosting Test matches. They have a handful of good pacers who can exploit that, Williams continued.
“The lads have had a lot of playing time, and I believe we have had tremendous preparation, especially back in Zimbabwe. Back there, our seamers have been bowling rather well. The team’s mentality and makeup, as well as the group’s overall vibe, are very lively. Williams, who rejoined the Test team for this trip after missing Zimbabwe’s last Test match against Ireland, told media in Sylhet on Friday, “It has been awesome.”

Although Williams acknowledged that they are fully aware of Bangladesh’s pace attack, he maintained that they are not focussing all of their attention on Nahid Rana, the new pace sensation. “I believe that Bangladesh’s pacers are really good. Over the years, I have seen the Bangladesh pace attack continue to develop. It’s amazing how many players they can choose from. “I’ve truly appreciated Bangladesh’s progress,” Williams stated.
“Many people these days are capable of bowling quickly. Not a single individual. We’re ready for that. Humans cannot match the speed of our bowling machines. When his eyes were brought to Rana, he remarked, “It is a great thing.”
Williams went on to say that he is well aware of the impending struggle and that success requires mental focus.
“I have made numerous trips to Bangladesh. It’s quite easy. It’s crucial to get enough food, water, and sleep on this side of the globe. The wickets state that you must recognise the items and eliminate any distractions. According to Williams, “the key is to get mentally focused.”
“Both teams have had great preparation but it will go down to the mental side of preparation, to see how the boys will cope and remove the distractions,” he said.
