The goal of fielding medals was to promote ODI cricket players to play consistently: T Dilip

Since every cricket player is trying their hardest to earn the medal, Team India’s decision to recognize the best fielder and give him a medal after every ODI World Cup match has been a huge success. Because viewers enjoyed seeing what goes on behind the scenes after a victory, several of the same videos went viral on social media.

Regarding this, India’s fielding coach, T Dilip revealed that although the procedure began four months before the competition, it wasn’t until the main event that it gained attention.

He went on to say that the intention of this action was to motivate every cricket player to field for 50 overs with all of their might. He said that in order to earn a medal, one must be constant in their effort or energy and not only pull off a spectacular grab.

As a result, the concept itself began, and the medal you are viewing is from the World Cup. However, we have been doing this since four months ago, when we began announcing the greatest fielder in each game in the locker room. According to India Today, T Dilip said, “Just at the medal and we are able to see the medal presentation all over social media now in the World Cup.”

However, the main goal was to ensure that, in addition to praising or discussing a spectacular catch, we also highlighted consistent performance in a 50-over match. This is crucial because, at 300 balls, it’s our goal to see how consistently players carry out their efforts and intensity, whether they are catching or otherwise contributing to the game. That, then, was the primary motivation for receiving this medal, he continued.

Suryakumar Yadav was notably selected as the game’s finest fielder against the Netherlands. The ground crew at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium announced the winner, and the team management orchestrated another spectacular gesture. Despite competition from KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, Suryakumar Yadav was awarded the medal for his outstanding performance in the second inning.
