NZC delegation visits Pakistan to assess security arrangements for tri-series in February 2025

A delegation from New Zealand Cricket (NZC) recently travelled to Pakistan to evaluate the security plans for an ODI tri-series between South Africa, New Zealand, and Pakistan. Among the delegation were Brad Rodden, a representative of the New Zealand Players’ Association, and security specialist Reg Dickason.

After visiting Karachi and Lahore, the two are taking notes on the security setup and whether everything is ready for the next series. Before the Champions Trophy 2025, which would be staged in a hybrid format, Pakistan will host South Africa and New Zealand.

Additionally, similar to the NZC group, the ICC delegation has also arrived in Pakistan.

The purpose of their visit is to examine the planning and preparations for the forthcoming Champions Trophy. Notably, the location for the Champions Trophy matches between the Indian squad and Pakistan has not yet been determined.

A meeting between Mohsin Naqvi and Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud

Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, the chairman of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, recently met with Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, in Riyadh on Wednesday, December 18, amid the stalemate around the Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB said in a release that the two discussed the potential for cricket to grow in Saudi Arabia.

“Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a close relationship, and we are prepared to provide all assistance we can to improve cricket there. Saudi athletes would be welcomed to Pakistan for chances in training and growth. Pakistan is a second home to all Saudis, and we are delighted to work together on infrastructure and cricket development,” Naqvi stated in the statement.

“We recently took home the ACC Challenge Cup and are working hard on player development.” In order to promote and grow cricket in Saudi Arabia, we are eager to work closely with Pakistan,” he continued.
