Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricket player, commended Chennai Super Kings for acquiring Noor Ahmad for the current Indian Premier League season. For a struggling CSK team this season, Ahmad has been one of the few standout players.
Even though the Gujarat Titans were engaged in a fierce bidding war in the mega auction held prior to the current season, he commended CSK for their unwavering determination to integrate Ahmad into their system.
“Looking at the auction, CSK may have made some mistakes, but Noor Ahmad was one item they got exactly right. Even though GT attempted to RTM him during a brief bidding war with the Gujarat Titans, CSK remained resolute. They truly wanted Noor, thus they were willing to spend a lot of money. Chopra said on JioHotstar, “I recall his first game, which was against Mumbai, where he took three or four wickets and helped CSK win.”
Loyalty is one aspect of CSK that never changes: Chopra
The well-known analyst noted that he believed Noor was one of those players that would ultimately have the team’s support for a very long period.
Since then, he has claimed four more wickets. You will see ups and downs during a 14-game season, but Noor seems to be a long-term player.
With CSK, loyalty is something that never varies; if they believe a player can lead the team, they will continue to support him. “Ahmad is undoubtedly one of those players,” Chopra continued.
In his debut season, Ahmad has taken 20 wickets for the team. Ahmad has been one of CSK’s most dependable bowlers whenever a breakthrough is needed, with an economy rate of 8.02 in his 12 games to date. During the two-day auction in Jeddah last year, CSK paid INR 10 crore for Noor.
