For the 2025–2026 International League T20 (ILT20) season, Noor Ahmad has joined Desert Vipers. Prior to this, Noor played for the Sharjah Warriorz in the tournament’s first season in 2022–2023. Wanindu Hasaranga will not be available because of Sri Lankan national commitments, thus the left-arm spinner was signed to take his place.
Ten of the 14 games Noor has played in the format for Afghanistan have taken place in the United Arab Emirates. In the nation, he has taken 15 wickets at a remarkable economy rate of 6.84 and an average of 23.73. In the Vipers’ roster, he will be joined by his countrymen Faridoon Dawoodzai and Qais Ahmad. He gave off the impression that he knew the conditions well enough to perform well in the tournament.
Since I participated in the competition’s inaugural season, I am aware of the conditions to be expected. “As soon as I walk through the door, I’ll see some familiar faces because the squad includes two other Afghanistan players,” Noor said, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
On two previous times, the Vipers have advanced to the ILT20 championships. Both the prior edition and the first one in 2022–2023 did so. Nevertheless, they lost both times in the end. In their first final, the Gulf Giants defeated them by a margin of defeat. The 2024–25 edition, however, saw the Dubai Capitals win the championship in an exciting final-over conclusion. On December 2, the fourth edition will kick off with a matchup between the Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals.
Noor should be available for the duration of the competition.
The sly spinner, who is 20 years old, has a great deal of experience on the franchise T20 circuit. In addition to the IPL, he has participated in the Men’s Hundred, CPL, SA20, BBL, and PSL. Afghanistan just included the left-arm orthodox spinner in their roster for the 2025 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
