Nitish Rana discusses Rohit Sharma's captaincy ethos in detail.

In the 16th season of the Indian Premier League, Nitish Rana took Shreyas Iyer’s place as Kolkata Knight Riders’ captain. The squad played some solid cricket under his direction, but they were unable to advance to the competition’s playoffs. Despite this, the team would like to bring over a number of the benefits to the next edition. Regarding Rana, the cricketer from Delhi said that he has matured considerably over time and that serving as captain has taught him many lessons about which he had not previously given much thought.

The 29-year-old also relayed to him the wise counsel Rohit Sharma gave him during the KKR vs. MI match last year. Rana stated that the current Indian captain had warned him not to succumb to extra pressure and had emphasised that it all came down to managing one’s attitude and certain facets of the game.

“I spoke with Rohit Bhaiya last year, and the topic of our conversation was just the captaincy. I was asking him for advice on how to proceed. He explained to me that mentality is everything. “Your job as a captain is to handle things. For example, whether type of bowling change is necessary or most likely which bowler will bowl in this circumstance. He continued by saying that no additional pressure was necessary.

He advised me, “You will make mistakes on several occasions, but there is plenty to learn. I simply kept this in mind because I don’t have a strong fear of making mistakes. Rana told CricketNext, “I just think you learn more from your failures and acquire a lot of knowledge from them.

I’m not just a part-time spinner; I’m a real all-rounder, Nitish Rana

Rana emphasised that he is a true all-rounder and not simply a part-time spinner before the start of the new domestic season. The cricketer stated that he is putting a lot of effort into his practise sessions and is prepared to contribute more in the future.

Although I haven’t bowled in the IPL, I’ve been bowling since I was a young child. I’m not just a part-time spinner; I’m a true all-rounder. In all my club and home games, I have bowled. An all-rounder’s one advantage is that he can still contribute with the ball if he is unable to do so with the bat. I just consider myself fortunate to have both abilities, Rana continued.
