According to reports, star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will miss the rest of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy because of a knee injury. The announcement is made ahead of India’s crucial fourth Test match against England at Manchester’s Old Trafford.
Nitish Kumar injury, which occurred on Sunday during an indoor training session, has contributed to India’s mounting injury worries. The 22-year-old hurt his left knee while working out at the gym, and further scans revealed ligament damage, according to an ESPNcricinfo report. Although the specifics of the injury are still unknown, the indications suggest that Nitish Kumar would miss not only the fourth Test (July 23–27), but also the last Test.
Anshul Kamboj had previously been called up by the visitors to cover for injuries in the pace department. This followed fitness worries for Arshdeep Singh (bowling hand injury) and Akash Deep (groin issue), both of whom are also questionable for the match at Old Trafford.
