At the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Nitish Kumar Reddy has batted wonderfully in the Boxing Day Test match against Australia. As India lost the wicket of Rishabh Pant, he came out to bat under tremendous strain. However, Reddy rose to the occasion, displayed maturity, and finally hit his first half-century in the longest format with a boundary.
One of India’s top hitters in the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy is the 22-year-old. After being chosen for the Test team, there were some scepticism, but the cricket player was able to establish his value and has been a reliable member of the squad. So much so that when the change finally occurs, there may be talks about moving Reddy up in the hierarchy.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, meanwhile, celebrated his half-century at the renowned Pushpa ceremony.
Originating from Visakhapatnam, he chose to honour the renowned actor Allu Arjun after growing up watching Telegu films.

Reddy was notably well-supported by Washington Sundar, which prevented India from being followed in the first innings. The pressure was on the Australian cricketers since both hitters made excellent decisions and left the balls nicely. The hosts had a hard time since they rotated well and picked singles and doubles at regular intervals.
Despite the middle order’s promise, India required a solid partnership from the beginning. In the middle, Sundar and Reddy shown their class by taking up the responsibility. In particular, Reddy was good at handling short balls. His departure from them was largely detrimental to the Pat Cummins-led team. Conversely, Sundar pretended to be Cheteshwar Pujara. Reddy, who was playing with one hand, had a regressive attitude, which was necessary given that India was seven wickets behind.
