In the first T20I between India and England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s incredible on-field performance ended Jos Buttler’s outstanding knock. Even as the tourists continued to lose wickets at the other end, the legendary batter was displaying some beautiful strokes. On a difficult pitch, Nitish’s spectacular catch prevented the England captain from leading his team to a commanding total.
When facing an in-form Varun Chakravarthy, Jos Buttler struck a six off the opening ball of the 17th over.
Buttler drew a short ball on leg-stump towards deep square leg, but the mystery spinner had the final laugh. Nitish rushed forward from the boundary line and grabbed the ball just inches off the ground. After examining the catch, the third umpire declared it to be clean.

Buttler had to return to the pavilion after hitting a spectacular 68 off 44 balls. In his innings, he hit two sixes and eight fours. Buttler was Chakravarthy’s third casualty of the game. After scoring 132, England was eventually bowled off the final ball of the innings.
On an unusual Eden Gardens pitch, Buttler was the only batter who appeared at ease. Harry Brook was the second-highest scorer, with 17.
With two wickets in his opening two overs, Arshdeep Singh set the tone with the new ball. For the third wicket, Buttler and Brook put up a 48-run partnership off of 28 balls. After this, though, things took a turn for the worse as the Three Lions continued to lose wickets often. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel both concluded with two-wicket hauls, in addition to Arshdeep. The only Indian bowler to go wicketless was Ravi Bishnoi.
