Since the tournament’s start on October 5, the current ICC Cricket World Cup has produced a number of impressive performances. The seventh game of the ongoing tournament will feature Bangladesh taking against the defending champions England. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala will host the game on Tuesday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. (IST).
In their first match, Bangladesh fought Afghanistan, getting off to a great start in the competition. Shakib Al Hasan’s team worked together to defeat Afghanistan by six wickets. Shakib and Mehidy Hasan each took three wickets as they bowled out the opposition for a score below par of 156 in just 37.2 overs. Thanks to half-centuries from Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto, respectively, Bangladesh was able to reach the goal in just 34.4 overs.
On the other hand, England has not had the best of beginnings to the tournament as they fell to New Zealand in the opening match, which was a replay of the 2019 edition’s final. The defending champions were defeated by the Black Caps by nine wickets because they were unable to contain 282 runs. Notably, Joe Root was the only English player to reach a half-century at the plate.
Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand, two vital batsmen, tore England apart. In their first World Cup, the pair each hit a century, and their 273-run stand was the fourth-highest partnership in the tournament’s history.
Bangladesh entered the competition after winning one warm-up game and losing another against Sri Lanka and England, respectively. England’s first warm-up game versus the hosts India had to be abandoned due to the rain.
The game is anticipated to be an exciting contest as both teams battle to win. It’s important to note that the tough, powerful England side will be the favorite going into the match.
