Despite an attack on his Lower Dir home, Pakistan’s fast bowler Naseem Shah will remain in the team for the forthcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. No one was reported hurt when unknown attackers opened fire on the gate of his family’s home.
After firing at the gate, the attackers immediately ran away, and police launched an inquiry. Since the attack happened early on Monday morning, it is unknown who was there at the house at the time. According to Dawn, Naseem Shah father spoke with a police official who promised him that the attackers would be apprehended promptly.
ESPNcricinfo is aware that Naseem Shah intentions and itinerary for the series are unaffected by the incident; the fast bowler is anticipated to remain with the team and participate fully in the series as needed. Tuesday marks the start of a three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. Later this month, they will play a T20I tri-series, which also includes Zimbabwe. Naseem is a member of both teams.
The presence of Naseem Shah two younger brothers, who are also professional cricket players, in the house is unknown.
