Trent Boult, the ace bowler for the Mumbai Indians (MI), was a member of the team that won the 2020 Indian Premier League. Trent Boult declared it to be among the top T20 sides he has ever played with after five years. MI hasn’t touched the trophy since winning their fifth championship in 2020.
At the moment, Trent Boult works for the franchise held by Reliance. With 10 wickets in nine games at an average of 28.80 and an economy rate of 9.00, he has had a successful IPL 2025 thus far.
“Being in the bubble during COVID—bunked down in Abu Dhabi with a fantastic setup and the comfort of playing at the same ground—is what I remember most. That 2020 Mumbai Indians team was among the best T20 teams I’ve ever played for, despite the strange times. We advanced to the playoffs, won the championship game, and it was an amazing experience. The tournament went by quickly. Boult stated on JioStar, “There’s no reason we can’t create more magical memories because many of those faces are still around.”
2015 is one of my favourite IPL memories: Trent Boult
Trent Boult thought back to 2015, when he was selected by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He adored Dale Steyn and was thrilled to be in the same locker room as the great player. Boult has played for numerous IPL teams.
After beginning his IPL career with SRH, he later played for KKR, DC, MI, and RR. But when he talked about playing with MI, everyone around him encouraged him. He felt at home after returning this season, and the changing room atmosphere is amazing.
Depending on the needs of the game, Boult opens the bowling with either Jasprit Bumrah or Deepak Chahar. This season, Hardik Pandya, the captain, has made excellent use of the player, conserving him for the final overs.
“Being selected to play in Hyderabad in 2015 is one of my favourite IPL moments. Growing up, Dale Steyn was someone I looked up to, and now I was in the same dressing room as him. Playing with guys you never thought you’d meet is the best part of the IPL. I got a real taste of the MI “One Family” culture in 2020 when I relocated from Delhi to Mumbai. I’ve consistently felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed. They allowed me to go out, express myself, and simply do what I wanted to do. Being in this position makes me feel incredibly blessed,” Trent Boult stated on JioStar.
