IPL 2025: Mukesh Choudhary attempts to catch Priyansh Arya by stepping onto the boundary cushion

On Tuesday, April 8, during Match 22 of the 2025 Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings, Mukesh Choudhary gave Priyansh Arya a much-needed respite when the latter stepped across the boundary rope while making the batter’s catch. On the second delivery of the 12th over, this odd thing had place.

Choudhary was positioned far away when Ravichandra Ashwin’s full and floating delivery was cut.The medium pacer with a left arm hung onto the ball. But when he tried to go back, his left foot ended up on the cushion. Ultimately, at that moment, it all came down to game awareness.

The 24-year-old top-order batsman achieved his first IPL century by smashing nine sixes and seven fours. With the outstanding feat in just 39 deliveries, the southpaw tied the record for the joint-fourth-fastest tonne in the prestigious 20-over competition. On over 103, the rising star reached his hundred and was removed by Noor Ahmad.

Mukesh Choudhary conceded 21 runs in his two overs, which is a reflection of his performance with the ball.

Mukesh Choudhary gave CSK their first breakthrough of the evening as he forced Prabhsimran Singh to hack on the ball on his stumps with the second delivery of his innings. Ravichandran Ashwin, on the other hand, took a few wickets in his costly four-over spell.

Every batter from No. 2 to No. 6 had a rough time in the middle, with the exception of Arya. After recording single-digit scores, everyone was fired, including captain Shreyas Iyer and Glenn Maxwell. Only 23 runs could be scored by the five batters combined. At the conclusion of their 20-over allotment, PBKS finished their innings at 219/6.
