The Indian cricket Board of Control is still hesitant to send players to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled for February and March of 2025.
This occurs after the submission to the International Cricket Council of a draft schedule by the Pakistan Cricket Board. It states that the marquee encounter between the bitter rivals, set for March 1, will take place at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore for all of India’s matches.
Similarly, Moin Khan, the former wicketkeeper-batter of Pakistan, has jumped on the bandwagon and asked India’s former cricketers to approach their country’s governing body with an open request to disregard their political ties with their country and send an Indian team to the mega-event next year.
“Cricketers who have played for India in the past, such as Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, and Kapil Dev, should advise their cricket board to keep politics out of cricket. Politics shouldn’t get in the way of cricket. The audience would like watching Pakistan and India compete. According to India Today, Moin said, “It will not only benefit Pakistan but cricket as a whole.”

Speaking further, the previous World Cup victor urged Pakistan to repay the gesture in the event that India chooses not to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year.
“India should keep its word to the International Criminal Court. Moin continued, “And if they don’t show there, Pakistan ought to think twice before agreeing to take part in any further activities that are planned to take place in India.

It’s interesting to note that India has not previously skipped a trip to Pakistan for an occasion. Pakistan was supposed to host the Asia Cup, but Sri Lanka had to be included because the Indian team had to play all of its games on the island.
India has not travelled to Pakistan since their 2008 tour.
