Reports: Mohammed Shami to participate in last two BGT Tests, to leave for Australia after SMAT

According to the most recent information available, Mohammed Shami is expected to play in the fourth and fifth Test matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. According to reports, the great pacer would depart for Australia following his time with Bengal in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

An insider close to the seasoned cricket player revealed the details of the update. More than a year after his last appearance, which coincidentally took place against the Australians during the ODI World Cup Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the pacer is expected to return to international cricket after his India uniform was already sent to Australia, the source continued.

“Mohammed Shami India uniform is already on its way to Australia.

The insider told The Telegraph that he would finish the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 assignment before departing.

The SMAT 2024 knockout stages will be held in Bengaluru. Therefore, it is anticipated that following Bengal’s campaign, he will be investigated by Nishant Bordoloi, the strength and conditioning trainer, and Dr. Nitin Patel, the head of the National Cricket Academy’s medical staff.

“Shami will represent us in the pre-quarterfinal matchup with Chandigarh. By tomorrow, he will be in Bengaluru. If we advance to the quarterfinals or continue, I’m not sure if he will be available. The head coach of Bengal, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, said, “I suppose he will be available and fit for the final two Australia Tests.”

Shukla also informed Shami of his physical fitness status and stated that the top fast bowler had chosen to put himself through a demanding workload in order to get ready for his international return. Shami himself desired to play a decent amount of local cricket.

“His body weight has already decreased by about six kilogrammes. He’s participated in seven Twenty20 matches in 13 days. Eight games in sixteen days will occur if he participates in the pre-quarters. In order to let the NCA know how his body responds, Shami himself wants to play a good amount of domestic cricket,” he continued.

It would only help India, who are now in a difficult situation in the day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval, if Shami could get into their setup as soon as possible. When it comes to playing the Australians in their own backyard, Shami would like to do the same as he did against Madhya Pradesh.
