The Rohit Sharma-led team finished as runners-up in the recently ended ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, despite an incredible campaign by star pacer Mohammed Shami of India. The 33-year-old claimed 24 wickets from seven games at an average of 10.70, with an astounding economy rate of 5.26, to finish as the tournament’s top wicket-taker.
His valiant efforts were essential in getting India to the competition final. Despite his accomplishments, some Pakistani players criticized him, with Hasan Raza, a former player, calling the Indian team out for “cheating.” Raza explicitly said that, in contrast to other teams participating in the major event, Shami and the Indian bowlers were given different balls.
In response to the charges, Shami stated that he is not the kind of person who gets envious of other people’s accomplishments. The 33-year-old continued by saying that certain Pakistani players didn’t seem to be able to acknowledge his achievements.

“Over the past few days, I’ve been hearing a lot. In the first few games, I wasn’t in the Starting XI. I took five wickets after being recruited into the team. I struck out four and five batters in the next two games. A few players from Pakistan were unable to accept my achievement. They genuinely believe they are the finest. I think the finest player is one who plays on time,” he continued.

Mohammed Shami voiced his confusion over remarks made by former player Hasan Raza about using several balls.
The sprinter emphasized that Wasim Akram had just explained the complete ball selection procedure.
“They unintentionally stirred up uproar. They said that we will be receiving several kinds of balls. In one of his performances, Wasim Akram bhai went so far as to reveal the entire ball choosing procedure. If someone who hasn’t played the game brings up something like this, I get it. You shouldn’t make such claims because you are an ex-player and you have played cricket,” he said.
