Prior to the intense ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final between Australia and India, veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami mother, Anjum Ara, was admitted to the hospital. Australia won the match for the sixth time on November 19, which took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Mohammed Shami mom was unable to attend the much-awaited match on Sunday. Ara, who is dealing with some serious health problems, was taken to the hospital on Sunday morning after feeling lightheaded. The pacer’s family had originally intended for everyone to be there at the match; instead, only Haseeb, his older brother, and his relatives made the trip to Ahmedabad.
News 18 said that Ara recently discussed her chronic health difficulties with someone who had communicated with her. On Sunday, though, she had a standard examination before being brought to the hospital. Shami’s younger brother, Mohammed Kaif, a former domestic cricket player for India, was oblivious to the circumstances.

In the just-concluded ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami had a remarkable campaign. The 33-year-old has missed India’s first four tournament games. He did, however, demonstrate his value when he was named in the starting lineup for India’s sixth game at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala against New Zealand, winning Player of the Match and claiming a fifer.
Then, at Mumbai’s storied Wankhede Stadium, the fast bowler put on another outstanding display in the group stage match against Sri Lanka. In the game that saw the Men in Blue crushed by 302 runs, he finished with fantastic figures of 5/18. Interestingly, in that game as well, he was named Player of the Match.
In the Mumbai semifinal match, Shami’s other standout effort came against the Kiwis. Speaking of the match, India chose to bat first and scored 397 runs in total. The pacer then completed with career-best stats of 7/57 to win his third Player of the Match trophy in the competition. With 24 wickets from seven games, the 33-year-old concluded the tournament as the top wicket-taker.
