Mohammed Shami, the star pacer for India, has been recuperating since undergoing ankle surgery in March of this year. Following his appearance in four tournament games, he made a comeback to the field on Friday, November 29. This time, he played at Rajkot versus Madhya Pradesh (MP). It is noteworthy that the game was played at Ground C of Niranjan Shah Stadium.

For those who are unaware, Shami has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. However, he experienced a near-injury during the SMAT 2024 match versus MP. When Bengal set a challenging target of 190 runs in the second innings, the incident happened in the 19th over.

Shami suffered a jerk to his lower back while he was stopping a ball, according to. He was therefore observed clutching his back with his fists in a state of great agony. To attend the pacer from Amroha, Nitin Patel, the leader of the Center of Excellence’s medical panel, hurried onto the field.

The medical expert was notably assessing Shami’s general fitness, as requested by the Indian board. He was treated and then went back to bowling the remaining five deliveries. In spite of this, MP won the game by defeating Bengal in a thrilling final over.
