Rahul Dravid downplays the battle between Mohammad Nabi and Rohit Sharma in the third Twenty20 International, saying, "There's so much passion and emotion when you play for country."

Mohammad Nabi made an attempt to score a run after failing to hit a yorker from Mukesh Kumar. During the third T20I match in Bangalore, an exhilarating encounter took place between India and Afghanistan. A highly charged moment occurred at the conclusion of the initial super over. Following a draw in the 20 overs, the sides participated in a one-over decider to establish the victor. After five balls, when Afghanistan’s score was 13 for 1, a significant occurrence occurred.

The ball hit Mohammad Nabi pads and was diverted by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson. The ball then reached Virat Kohli, who was positioned at long-on.

Surprisingly, the hitters were able to score two additional runs, which greatly upset Rohit Sharma. After the intense events on the field, Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Nabi engaged in a contentious confrontation that drew attention from fans. Nevertheless, Rahul Dravid, the head coach of Team India, minimized the altercation during the news conference. Dravid recognized the occurrence but highlighted the competitive aspect of the game.

“It is satisfactory.” It is an inherent aspect of the game. Occasional frustrations may arise, but it is acceptable. The ball struck the non-striker and subsequently changed direction. I believe it is in a satisfactory condition, as you are allowed to score runs in such situations. To be honest, in the first T20I there was an occasion when it touched the bat of our batsman and we ran a run as well. I believe there is no need for interpretation; the rules do not impose any restrictions on the execution of those runs. “That is acceptable, as it is a component of the game,” Dravid stated, as reported by NDTV.

“It is possible for it to occur at the conclusion.” I believe sometimes when you play for your country, there’s so much passion and emotion. The emergence of competitiveness and emotion, even in inconsequential games, is quite remarkable,” he remarked.

India secures triumph in the second Super Over

Dravid recognized the level of tension between the sides and viewed the problematic moment as a manifestation of a vigorous enthusiasm for the sport. He emphasized the importance of keeping this emotion under control. Nevertheless, since the teams quickly redirected their attention to the second Super Over, the additional runs turned out to be irrelevant for Afghanistan. Notwithstanding their endeavors, India successfully equalized the scores at 16 during their batting session, necessitating a second Super Over. In the end, India came victorious and secured a win by a margin of 10 runs in an exciting match.
