Veteran bowler Mohammad Amir might not be able to go to Ireland with the team ahead of the three-game series because of visa complications. The rest of the team reportedly had no trouble obtaining their authorizations, according to NDTV, but Mohammad Amir visit is now expected to be delayed.
The three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Ireland is scheduled to begin on May 10. The purpose of the series is to better prepare the team for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is scheduled for June 2 in the USA and the West Indies.
According to reports, Mohammad Amir involvement with the jail sentence he received for the 2010 spot-fixing affair is the basis for the same.
When Pakistan travelled to Ireland and England in 2018, the pacer encountered a similar circumstance; nonetheless, he was permitted to enter after a brief delay.
According to an informed source cited by NDTV, “We are hopeful he will get his visa in a day or two, and he can join them later because of the spot-fixing case of 2010 and his subsequent jail term and ban.”
England will play Pakistan following the Ireland series.
In reference to Pakistan’s next tasks, the team will play a three-game Twenty20 International series against Ireland. The games are scheduled to take place in Dublin’s Castle Avenue on May 10, 12, and 14. Following the Ireland series’ conclusion, Babar Azam & Co. will turn their attention to England.
On May 22, 25, 28, and 30, the Men in Green will play England in a four-game Twenty20 International series. Headingley, Leeds will host the opening Twenty20 International match; Edgbaston, Sophia Gardens, and the Kennington Oval will host the second, third, and fourth matches, respectively.
The team will be hoping that these games would help them prepare for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which begins on June 6 with Pakistan playing the USA.
