“I don’t regret any of it, and money will come and go,” Mitchell Starc says about putting national service ahead of lucrative franchise competitions.

Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc, an Australian fast bowler, is one of the few players still playing who hasn’t been in a franchise event in more than eight years, whether it’s in the Big Bash, the Indian Premier League, or another league. Starc joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2014. Before going to focus on international cricket, the speedster was an important part of the RCB team in the 2015 edition.

Also, India’s search for an elusive ICC title doesn’t look like it will end anytime soon. On Sunday at The Oval, Pat Cummins’s Australia beat India by 209 runs in the ICC World Test title (WTC) final. India needed 444 runs in the second inning to win, but they were only able to score 234. Australia easily won the match.

Starc, who was an important part of Australia’s success in the World Test Championships from 2021 to 2023, seems to find comfort in playing for Australia at a time when players all over the world are eagerly awaiting contracts in franchise events.

“I don’t regret any of it. Money comes and goes, but I’m very thankful for the chances I’ve been given. Less than 500 men have played Test cricket for Australia in more than 100 years, which makes it a very important thing to be a part of. The Guardian reported that Starc said, “There’s nothing I love more in cricket than to sit back with my teammates after a Test win and talk about how well we did that week.”

You need permission from your club to go play sports abroad. Mitchell Starc says that his love of cricket goes beyond making money, which is why he likes to wear the baggy green cap instead of playing franchise cricket around the world. He also said that Test cricket is at an exciting time because there is talk of 12-month contracts for players in franchise cricket.

“To be able to put on the loose green with a lot of my close friends, guys I’ve played the game with since I was a kid,. I mean, franchise cricket is great, but you can be bought, sold, or moved in a year, but I’ve been lucky enough to have this chance for over ten years. There is more and more franchise cricket, and there is more and more talk about 12-month franchise contracts. This could be like football, where you have an international window or need permission from your club to play international sports,” he said.

Mitchell Starc is the main fast bowler for the current Australian team in all formats. He did a great job at both the T20 World Cup in 2021 and the World Cup in 2015, which were both big wins for Australia. He will be one of the most important people in the next Ashes match.
