IND vs. AUS, 2nd ODI: Mitchell Starc gets a five-wicket haul to put India in a tight spot.

Mitchell Starc has again brought down India’s top order in the second ODI, which is currently going on at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Early on, he got rid of the first four Indian batsmen. Then, he came back in to finish things off in style by getting the last Indian man out.

Steve Smith won the toss on Sunday and chose to bowl first because it was going to be cloudy in Vizag. Starc quickly proved that his captain was right when he got rid of Shubman Gill on the third delivery of the innings. Gill was well outside off when Mitchell Starc drew him, and when Gill tried to hit a shot over point, the ball went straight to Marnus Labuschagne, who was in the right place.

The left-arm pacer, who is 33 years old, then had his best over of the game when he got two wickets in a row in the fifth over. He first got rid of Rohit Sharma, who was the captain of the Indian team, with another outside-off delivery that took a big edge and was caught by Steve Smith at first slip.

Suryakumar Yadav was out on another golden duck on the very next ball that he threw. Notably, Mitchell Starc had gotten rid of Suryakumar in the same way in the first ODI, when Yadav was a little late when he tried to hit a drive.

Then, in the ninth over, Mitchell Starc took the wicket of KL Rahul, who had saved India in the last match. Rahul tried to flick the ball, but Mitchell Starc speed beat him, and he was out LBW for the second time in the match. Rahul talked about the decision with Virat Kohli at the non-end, striker’s which turned out to be a bad idea.

India’s hopes for a big score were ruined even more when Sean Abbott got rid of Hardik Pandya in the 10th over. Steve Smith made a world-class catch in the slips to stop a flying ball. Virat Kohli stood his ground against Mitchell Starc and saved his wicket by getting 31 runs in 35 balls.

Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja added 22 runs to the sixth wicket and seemed confident that they could get the home team back on track. India was at 91/7 in the 20th over when Nathan Ellis got rid of both batters.

Mitchell Starc then came back and finished India’s innings by bowling out Mohammed Siraj with a wide delivery in the 26th over.

This gave him a five-for. The home team only scored 117 runs in 26 overs because of his 5 for 53, 3 for Abbott, and 2 for Ellis.
