Mitchell Santner gives an important update on the injury to another MI spinner, saying, “Karn has a couple of stitches in his hand.”

There are a few stitches in his hand. According to Sportskeeda, Mitchell Santner said, “I’m not sure if he’s bowling or available for tomorrow, but it looked like a nasty little cut and it’s a shame.”

On Thursday, April 17, during the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) most recent game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Karn Sharma suffered a painful knock to his hand while fielding. The seasoned leg-spinner, who was instrumental in MI’s victory over the Delhi Capitals in their previous meeting, left the pitch to receive medical attention and did not return to bowl against the team captained by Pat Cummins.

On Sunday, Hardik Pandya and company will play the Chennai Super Kings, long-time rivals, at the Wankhede Stadium. Karn may not be able to play in the much awaited match, though, after his teammate Mitchell Santner disclosed his injury status the night before the game.

Due to two stitches on his hand, New Zealand’s white-ball captain expressed uncertainty regarding Karn’s readiness for the crucial match.

Despite being somewhat hampered by Karn’s absence, Mumbai defeated Hyderabad by four wickets after chasing down a 163-run mark with 11 balls remaining.

One of the top bowlers in the current IPL season is Noor Ahmad. In seven games, the Afghanistan spinner has taken 12 wickets at an average of 14.25. According to Santner, he has recently played with and against Noor, and if the Wankhede Stadium offers a slowish surface on Sunday, he could be even more dangerous than he is now.

“I’ve recently seen a lot of him; I’ve played with him and against him in the Major League Cricket (MLC) in the USA. He is undoubtedly a superb bowler. Even though he can be difficult to figure out at times, he has been excellent throughout this tournament, particularly in Chennai where there has been some help. According to Santner, “we know he’s going to be a challenge if it’s going to be a slightly slower wicket like last game.”

“They will be as well if they go to other spinners. You must be really intelligent to avoid him. He might be difficult to stop once he gets going. He has bowled quite well, as we have seen,” he continued.
