Mitchell Marsh Excited to Face Team India

The forthcoming white-ball series against India, according to Mitchell Marsh of Australia, will be the ideal prelude to the 2025–2026 Ashes. Due to Pat Cummins’ back injury, Marsh will be leading the hosts in both forms of the eight-match limited-overs series between Australia and India in October and November.

He also talked about the “great rivalry” that exists between Australia and India and how much they appreciate the opposition who will be opposing them. Playing a champion team like India before facing England later this year, according to the star all-rounder, is ideal timing and presents a significant test for both teams.

“All of the boys will be preparing for the Ashes, but playing against India is always fun. We have a fierce rivalry and a lot of respect for them as a group. Playing against India right before an Ashes series is incredibly well-timed.

“It’s going to be huge,” Mitchell Marsh said, according to Fox Sports.

When Cummins is not available, Mitchell Marsh will be in charge of Australia’s ODI team. Currently, the captain of the 2023 World Cup is recuperating from his injuries. Cummins, who hasn’t played competitive cricket since July, is recuperating from a lumbar bone stress injury in his lower back.

The return of the Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli combination will be significant for India in the 50-over portion of the series. The three ODIs that the stars will play in begin on October 19 in Perth. After the third one-dayer, there will be five T20Is. The renowned Rohit Sharma will hand up the captaincy to Shubman Gill, who will be India’s first ODI captain.
