Not only gifted players, but some truly elite players. They don't receive the framework of assistance they require to thrive," Arthur claimed.

Micky Arthur provides an update on Pakistani cricket.

Babar Azam resigned as team captain following a lackluster showing in the ODI World Cup. Shan Masood was appointed as the team’s Test captain, while PCB declared Shaheen Shah Afridi to be the new captain for T20I cricket. Still, not much has changed after Pakistan lost the five-match Twenty20 International series to New Zealand 4-1 and suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat to Australia in Test cricket.

In reference to their current struggles in international cricket, former head coach Micky Arthur, who was on the team during the World Cup in India, said that players react differently in situations where they feel unsafe. According to him, a positive climate exists in the squad when a player’s position is solid, but when insecurity arises, things start to go wrong. He continued by saying that although there is a lot of potential in the nation, management is providing adequate backing.

Pakistan performs exceptionally well in terms of environmental security. Because they are focused on the next tour and contract, players who are insecure tend to play more for themselves than the team. That’s a risky position to be in, and that’s where Pakistani cricket currently is. And for me, that’s really frustrating and depressing,” Micky Arthur told ESPNcricinfo.

There are some players there who are not just talented but also of a world-class caliber. “They’re not provided with the necessary framework of support to thrive,” he continued.

Pakistani cricket is, in my opinion, in a very poor position. Micky Arthur

Despite losing his position as head coach during the World Cup, Micky Arthur stated that he would continue to watch Pakistani cricket. The legendary coach did add that Pakistan is currently in a very dismal place, so their relationship is now bittersweet.

“I will always continue to follow Pakistani cricket.” But after that, my enthusiasm for, appetite for, and passion for Pakistani cricket somewhat diminished. He said, “To be really honest, I think Pakistani cricket is in a very dismal condition.
