During the current five-match T20I series against England, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav suffered yet another low score. In the third Twenty20 International in Rajkot, he was removed for a seven-ball 14; ultimately, his team lost by 26 runs. In the series, it was India’s first defeat.
In the 20-over format, former English cricketer Michael Vaughan explained what it really meant to be “aggressive” with the bat. He said that rather than aiming to hit every ball out of the park, it’s important to choose the correct balls and times to attack. He also believed that the Indian T20I captain hasn’t been making a lot of contributions lately.
The phrase “be aggressive all the time” refers to picking the appropriate ball to use aggression against. You can’t knock every ball to the boundary, of course. After a middle-order collapse left England in a terrible situation, they were able to recover with the bat. India was unable to reach the target because the bowling unit put up a strong collective effort after managing to score 171 runs.
