Michael Neser of Glamorgan finished with 7/32, including a hat-trick, as the hosts seized a 139-run lead in the first inning against Yorkshire in the ongoing County Championship.
Yorkshire were dismissed for 106, and Jonny Bairstow was not out on 20. After being omitted for the upcoming Ashes 2023 series, he consequently raised the eyebrows of the Australian selectors, resulting in a future selection conundrum.
Glamorgan scored 245 runs in their first inning, while Neser’s swing and velocity ruined Yorkshire’s first-inning effort. By the end of Day 2, the visitors had reached 57/2 and held a 196-run advantage.
In Yorkshire’s first inning since Bairstow’s leg injury in September 2022, he smashed a pair of breathtaking boundaries. Neser then began performing his duties by dismissing Dawid Malan for 25 points. In the same manner, he dismissed George Hill and Dom Bess.
Later, the Australian bowler eliminated Jordan Thompson for his first-ever seven-wicket haul. Kiran Carlson’s direct hit on Ben Coad, the last competitor, eliminated him.

“I was about to attempt to strike the stumps when the ball swung sufficiently. “We’re in a great position, and our batters did a fantastic job in the first inning on a difficult pitch,” he added.
