The cricket world is getting ready for the sport’s maiden appearance on the largest platform—the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. Football and tennis have long had the honour of being included in the Olympics, but cricket will be represented there for the first time. The Hundred took a different route because every nation was planning their matches around the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024, and they wanted to ensure that viewership was not jeopardised.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which oversees the Hundred League, arranged for the most recent competition to take place during the Paris Olympics. The Olympic excitement was like a tsunami to the league, which was already having trouble taking off. Michael Vaughan, a former captain of England, has criticised the ECB for their inadequate leadership and demanded that they not play any bilateral series.
According to Michael Vaughan, there shouldn’t be any more bilateral one-day series, as reported by The Telegraph Cricket.
I will be frank about the Hundred this year. The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) made a mistake, in my opinion. They probably compared it to the Olympics. I simply believe that this year’s Hundred was poorly scheduled. You are attempting to sell it for a high price when you think. The ECB needs to make a pretty harsh decision, in my opinion.
The team, not the eleven players, wins: Sam Billings
Remaining neutral, if we are talking exclusively about the competition, the Lord’s hosted The Hundred 2024 final on August 18. The Southern Brave and Oval Invincibles battled for supremacy, with the Invincibles winning the trophy by a margin of 17 runs. Sam Billings, who successfully defended the title, joked that the team as a whole contributed to the victory.

“I’m glad it ended nicely. We discussed at one of the first team meetings of the season: the squad, not the eleven players, wins, and the environment and other subjective factors are key factors once more.
