Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra gave his forecast for the playoffs while discussing the qualification scenario. According to the former player, GT and PBKS will play the Eliminator, while MI and RCB will play Qualifier 1.
The rankings of the qualified clubs are still up in the air as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 league season draws to a close, adding to the tournament’s allure. One of the Qualifier 1 slots will be decided in the May 26 game between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS). The elimination round will be played by the match’s loser.
In the meantime, RCB will play in Qualifier 1 if they defeat LSG in their final league game on May 27. MI and RCB must win their next games in order for Aakash Chopra’s prophecies to come true.
“Mumbai wants to win this game since they will place in the top two if they do. This does not appear to be possible. Although it never seemed imaginable, it suddenly appears to be possible because all the other teams have lost so many games. They will also not qualify (for Qualifier 1) if they lose this match. On his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra stated, “It’s not like they’ve been handed it all to them.”
“The team is looking better, so I think the odds are in Mumbai’s favour. They’re travelling at a juggernaut speed. It appears that stopping them is a little challenging. In my opinion, Mumbai and RCB will place in the top two, and they will also face each other in the final,” Chopra continued.
The last few days have seen a lot of excitement in the IPL 2025 as the qualified teams have lost their prior games versus the eliminated teams. The forthcoming league-stage games will therefore be exciting for spectators to witness.
