McCullum: Bazball Stays All Series

Despite losing the series opener in Perth, England’s head coach Brendon McCullum has stated that his team will not abandon their natural style of playing Test cricket. In Perth, the tourists were defeated by eight wickets in the opening Test.

Following the crushing defeat, McCullum stated that the coaching staff will not allow the team’s morale to suffer any significant disruptions. Additionally, he stated that the team’s ability to regroup and stage a comeback will be greatly aided by the extended interval between games. Additionally, he affirmed that the English setup will continue to play in a similar manner for the remainder of the trip.

“We are aware that this will be painful, not just for us but also for all the English fans of this cricket team. A lot of conversation will take place. We just need to be careful not to let our confidence and friendships wane too much. We’re an excellent cricket squad when we’re playing at our best. In an interview with TNT Sports, McCullum said, “We now have an extended amount of time off over the next 10-12 days to make sure that when we get to Brisbane, we bounce back.”

McCullum also emphasised the need for England to remain united in these circumstances.

“I think the only option is to stick together, continue supporting one another, and keep moving in the direction of the goal. This is not a sprint, but a marathon. We’ve had a terrible day today, but we’ve experienced this before. That’s our plan. Over the next four Test matches, we won’t compromise on it because we’re married to it,” he continued.

England’s use of the ball was impressive. But twice they were outscored by the batting. Within the span of two days, the contest was over. The Three Lions did not last long, even though they scored a lot of runs in each of their innings.

The Brisbane Cricket Ground will host the second Test starting on December 4. The contest will be pink-ball. In that game, McCullum and company will try to perform considerably better and, ideally, mount a comeback.
